Nakiska Alpine Ski Association

Creating Tomorrow's Champions Today!

The Nakiska Alpine Ski Association is a collaboration of four Calgary-area ski clubs.  The clubs work in partnership, delivering their programs as part of a complete development system.  The breakdown of the member clubs and their age groups is:

Skimeisters Alpine Racing Club (Nancy Greene programs - ages 4 to 10)

Paskapoo Ski Club (K1 program - ages 11&12)

Kananaskis Alpine Ski Club (K2 program - ages 13&14)

National Alpine Training Centre (FIS program - ages 15+)

NASA's member clubs are non-profit organizations and all maintain independent Boards of Directors who employ professional coaches and draw upon parent volunteers to deliver programs to their age group.  The clubs contribute resources to the non-profit NASA organization for the purposes of employing two program directors and administrative support.  NASA is governed by a board of directors, comprised of members from each of the clubs to ensure open communication and equal representation and decision making for athletes at all levels.

The programs delivered by the clubs are overseen by NASA's program directors to ensure consistency and quality across the system.  Maximizing efficiencies and dedicating professional staff at each level, NASA's goal is to raise the bar in the standard of athlete and ski racer development in Alberta while keeping the cost of the sport accessible to as many families as possible.
